Elder’s Meditation of the Day January 24

“Always listen to what the Elders say.” –Dona Josefa Medrano, HUICHOL, SIERRA MADRE, MEXICO …
In school we have been taught to go to the encyclopedia when we need information about certain subjects. From the time we are little, we have a natural tendency to seek out role models. When we need information about living we tend to seek out books about living. These maybe self help books. The world is full of information. For the Native people, we have our Elders. All races have Elders. Our lives will run much smoother when we listen to the Elders. They don’t always tell us what we want to hear but they always tell us what we need to hear. The Elders have the ability to make the truth sweet.
Creator, thank You for the Elders. Help me this day to listen to them.
Msit Nókmaq/All My Relations,
People who reside in the city should take a day and go sit at the Mall and listen to the sounds. You can hear babies crying, people talking on cell phones, people talking to each other while talking on cell phones then asking others questions for answers. Is the cell phone our new encyclopedia? Are people that lonely inside that they cannot stand to be isolated with Creator? Is the cell phone our new way of life? Talk about noise pollution, People drive and talk on, the cell phone with little or no regard or respect for passengers or other drivers safety. People walk through the grocery store with a cell to their ears like there is no tomorrow. Society is failing to see the cell is killing people from auto accidents because drivers are not paying attention to their driving. The guy or gal next to you driving down the freeway weaving in and out and at times shaking both hands off the steering wheel because the other party on the cell has upset them. What kind of person would be so thoughtful of others lives. Elders speak with concern but the people fail to listen! “CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW”?   Arthur Medicine Eagle-Sonier MEGAMAW
Gitsch Manito-Creator, Wásóq-Spiritworld, Please help me to see what major significance a cell phone has in peoples lives except for emergency use or when at home calling, instead of being in a car or disrespecting others while eating a nice meal and the phone goes off. Thank you for taking mine away and showing me it makes a nice address book.   Welálin-ThankYou, Msit Nókmaq, Chi-Miigwetch, Mitauke Oyasin
