Elder’s Meditation of the Day May 12

Elder’s Meditation of the Day

“All the stones that are around here, each one has a language of its own. Even the earth has a song.”
—- Wallace Black Elk, LAKOTA

To believe that every tree, plant and insect can talk takes an open mind. Go by yourself into nature and sit quietly. Then pick up a rock and listen to your thoughts. After a while, put that rock down and pick up another rock. Your thoughts will change. These are the voices and wisdom of the Stone People. Each one has different wisdom and they are willing to share their wisdom with you. Many of the Stone People are very old and very wise.

Great Spirit, let every rock and leaf be my teacher.

SOMETHING EXTRA TO THINK ABOUT

Msit Nókmaq/All My Relations,
When a person does not believe that all things are living I try to stay away from them. In all matter there is life. Scientists call this atoms We Indian people call it Creator and ancestors. Rocks and
mountains are prime examples. They look hard and do not move much but they do contain life How else could they stick together and form the shapes they do? Atoms and micro-organisms play an important part on earth and in the heavens. Just because something does not move does not mean it is not with life.

Gitsch Manito-Creator, Wásóq-Spiritworld, Help me to see that everything has life. Help me to understand more about my co existence with all things. Welálin/Thank You, Msit Nókmaq, Chi~Miigwetch, Mitauke Oyasin
